“Thao is simply the best! I go often for pedicures and I always have great service (Sue is my favorite technician). And they always seem to be able to fit me in based on my schedule. “I’ve visited twice and left unhappy both times. On my first visit many years ago, I was told to 'never tip on a card again,' and they now have signs for cash or Venmo tips only, which is very inconvenient if you don't know or don't have either. ​My most recent experience was even more unprofessional. I wasn't given a menu to choose my service and had to ask for an 'organic' option, which I only knew of because I had a chance to check out the website, which turned out to be just a basic scrub/lotion, hot stones/towels, I thought organic would be dazzle dry or other organic polish options, non toxic scrubs/lotions etc. The staff was cold and alienating; the technician and the person next to her stared at me while chatting in their native language for the first half of my pedicure, making me feel very unwelcome. ​As you can see in the photo, the grooming on my big toe was left unfinished and rough. The water was only lukewarm and when I said "ooh actually it could be hotter, the tech added a cup of hot water, did not ask if I liked the color, it was only polish, no base or top coat (polish was not organic either) and I wasn't thanked or even checked on at the dryer. I will not be returning & would not recommend. Plenty of other salons in the Kennebunks and Wells area.”

“I hate leaving negative reviews but I had my nails done (dip) and my eyebrows yesterday. The wax ripped skin off my eyebrows and they are now bloody and my nails already chipped (less than 24 hours from the service) I’m super disappointed. The service wasn’t cheap. The nail color also didn’t match the swatch (dd212 in the attached is what I requested). Everything was spotless and everyone seemed so professional that I was surprised at the results.”

“Beautiful salon! It was clean and the staff were friendly. I had Tony and he was very thorough and attentive to detail. I got a dip manicure and he did a beautiful job making sure it was even and not too thick. I would definitely recommend and will go back for sure”

“I’ve been going to the The Nail Spa by Thao for about 6 months now and I cannot recommend it enough. They are so meticulous and I leave with beautiful nails each time. I could go up to 4 weeks between each fill but I find myself going back sooner because they are so wonderful and make me feel so good. The spa is so clean, everyone is so friendly and you can really tell the products they use are of high quality. You will not leave disappointed. The owner is there, checks in periodically and makes sure you get what you want. Go treat yourself- such a gem in Kennebunk!”
