What people are saying

“During my visit on July 22, 2026, I had a horrific experience at Sandy Nails in Bethesda. The technician was working at station #2 on the left side of the salon, was incredibly rude and rough. She kept aggressively yanking my hands and snapping at me to "relax" in a very condescending manner. The biggest concern is their complete disregard for Maryland health and sanitation laws. She tried to use cuticle nippers that she pulled straight out of her pocket. When I politely asked her to open a properly sterilized tool pouch in front of me, she rolled her eyes and sarcastically said, "Okay, ma'am." She then pulled a different set of tools out of her pocket, claiming they were sterile when they clearly were not.Because of her rough and careless handling, she cut my cuticle and kept yanking my hand even after injuring me. This is a massive health hazard (risk of bloodborne infections). This salon is unsafe, unprofessional, and uses illegal sanitation practices. I will be filing an official complaint with the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists. Do not risk your health here!”

“I have been coming to Sandy’s for years and ive been pleased every time! Great selection of colors, skilled techs, clean and sanitary, well priced and great location. It doesn’t get any better!”

“They charge a credit card surcharge of approximately 16%. It is not clear and the price seems to be made up on the spot. For example, you go for a manicure and the price is 20, you will be told $26 for card (just a random example) without explanation. It almost seems as if they are aware people are not tipping anymore so they are increasing prices to account for tips. If you are a customer who returns and doesn’t tip, your “surcharge” will be higher.”
