What people are saying
“I've been a client for at least 6 years, but recently, I had a bad experience and won't go back. My previous gel pedicure peeled off all at once after two weeks (never happened before). I let them know and they first blamed it on me and then switched gears and said that maybe it was the tech that I had, who didn't affix the polish correctly. I wasn't looking for any compensation and asked to have another pedicure done and the tech asked me if I also wanted a manicure. I thought that might be nice, so I said yes and that's when everything went off the rails. I wanted a sheer white color (regular polish - not gel) on my fingernails, but the tech had limited English and didn't understand me. Fair enough, I know what it's like to learn a second language and I'm very respectful of others. I just needed to communicate what I wanted. When I asked the manager to translate, she started yelling at me that she didn't know what I wanted. I repeated myself, but she kept screaming at me to pick a color and became strangely combative and rude. I asked another tech sitting a few feet away who spoke fluent English (she was the one who responded to my peeling-pedicure issue) if she could let my tech know what I wanted and she said "I can't help you, I'm with a customer," and she turned her back on me. My tech was doing her best to help and kept motioning to the gel polish and I kept trying to communicate what I wanted, while the manager screamed in her native language to the other techs. At one point, everyone was yelling, so I motioned for my tech put on some random polish just so that I could get out of there. She also used an electric file on my nails, but there was no way to tell her I wanted my nails buffed manually (I have thin nails). I paid $100 in total and got out of there as fast as I could. It's unfortunate because I really liked this salon previously.”
“I have never written a negative review for a business before. Usually, if I’m unhappy with a service, I simply move on. However, my experience at Nail Trix in the Auburn Mall was honestly shocking. The first photo shows the manicure I had before going in for a fill and shape change. It was a simple French tip done professionally in Minnesota, clean, elegant, and natural looking. When I arrived at Nail Trix, a male technician worked on my nails first. While filing my cuticles with the drill, he was extremely rough to the point where it was painful. He was aggressive with the machine and not careful around my skin at all. Then, when filing the nail bed and applying acrylic, the work became incredibly thick and uneven. Acrylic ended up all over my cuticles and surrounding skin, and my fingers were hurting throughout the process. I originally asked for a pink ombré design, but he told me he could not do it, so I had to wait for another technician to complete that part. Unfortunately, she applied so many thick layers that my nails looked bulky, unnatural, and honestly unattractive. The polish also had not fully dried before another coat and top layer were applied, which made the nails look messy, uneven, and even more unnatural. My nail beds were sore, my cuticles were irritated, and the overall result looked nothing like what I asked for. I was so upset when I got home that I actually cried. I could not believe I went from having a beautiful manicure to what felt like a complete disaster. That same afternoon, I called another nail salon in Lewiston and paid an additional $35 just to have my nails corrected. The second salon was visibly shocked by how thick the acrylic was. They had to file everything down, reshape the nails, and completely change the color. They also told me my cuticles had been over-filed and irritated. Parts of the skin around my nails were red, raw, and even slightly bleeding. I took videos during and after the process, and I truly wish Google allowed video uploads because the photos do not fully capture how bad the work was. What makes this even more disappointing is that the last time I visited this salon was around 10 years ago, and I also had a negative experience back then. Since I recently returned from Minnesota, I decided to give them another chance because they were one of the least crowded salons nearby. Unfortunately, I regretted that decision almost immediately. I would not recommend this salon based on my experience.”
“They did make my cuticles bleed both times I've been, they gave me the design on the wrong nails and when I asked them to fix it they didn't.. BUT they have hearts of gold, very sweet people- make sure what they charge is correct and dont be afraid to tell them you need a cleaner shape on the nail. They did charge me $100 for these nails 💅 in the first pic because she didnt tell me til after I was done that they consider those to be extra extra long nails- I disagree but for acrylics and a pedi I paid $160.. in the first Pic my pinky and thumb had raw cuticles and my other hand had 3 fingers like my thumb in this Pic. But I will return for fills til I find a reliable nail tech closer to my price range and who doesn't damage the nail beds ♡ 3rd pic is after my fill, they only damaged the nail beds on one hand this last time so I try not to photograph that hand as much. Fill was $60 for this length and plain white nails”
“Nail trix is a place in the mall to get your nails done. My mom had gone to nail trix once a month until the day she was dead. I have nothing bad to say. Only good stuff. Come on down and get the best nail service in town”
“I went in and got a full set of acrylics with gel. They felt sticky upon going home and I checked them out and upon looking one of them was totally uncured and the top layer ended up peeling off and several other fingers were squishy and sticky. I went back in the next morning and kindly asked for them to repaint them all because I have very sensitive skin and could not risk them all being uncured and getting contact dermatitis and was immediately met with an attitude that they were absolutely fine and I only needed the one that peeled fixed. I tried to nicely explain the dangers of uncured gel and said I would even be fine with just a solid color instead of the 10 finger designs I had paid for the day prior. She then refused because she had an appointment I said thats totally fine anyone else In the salon can fix them so she put me with another tech and she began and I said to save time just give me a thin black French tip and she said no problem. She then rushed the entire time, was again not letting them cure in the light for the entire cycle and they looked horrible but I didnt care as long as they were cured. I thanked her profusely and went to leave and she proceeded to tell me I owed her 40$ and I said no im sorry you guys were fixing them from last night and she proceeds to scream at me in front of a salon (20+ people) that I need to pay her and that she told me that. She did not and im sorry but I dont believe I should have had to pay 40 dollars for fixing uncured gel which is incredibly dangerous and especially not for the awful rush job she did. The owner then refused to even let me explain and screamed at me to just leave. Absolutely horrible experience would not recommend risking the dangers of uncured gel!”
