“I went here recently to get my nails done at Avalon and had a really upsetting experience. I want to start by saying the woman who did my pedicure was amazing, she did a great job on my toes and was very gentle and professional. The problem was with the man who did my nails. I originally asked for gel, but he convinced me to get builder gel instead. During the appointment, he cut the cuticles on almost every finger. I was actively bleeding from three fingers, and it was extremely painful even to wash my hands afterward. He is right-handed, and only the left side of each cuticle was cut, which makes it pretty clear it wasn’t a one-time accident, he just wasn’t being careful. While I was getting my toes done, I had asked for the spa bundle with the massage. In the middle of my nail appointment, after I started bleeding, he told me the woman massaging my legs was “too strong” and that was why he was cutting me. Even after she stopped, he still kept cutting my cuticles, so that excuse made no sense. He never asked if I was okay. When I went to pay and said my cuticles were in a lot of pain and I was bleeding, he claimed he had asked if I was okay and that I said yes, which was not true. Several staff members looked at my nails and said nothing, even though the cuts and blood were obvious. While I was bleeding, he wiped my fingers with a random towel and poured alcohol directly onto the open cuts, which hurt a lot. In the end, they only offered me $5 off “because he felt bad” literally word for word. For a high-end location like Avalon, I expected basic hygiene, skill, and for my concerns to be taken seriously. Instead, I left in tears, with damaged cuticles that are still healing days later. I will not be returning to him and I would strongly suggest being careful about who you book with here. Btw my total was $166 to get my cuticles cut lol. I’ve never made a review like this ever and I always give the benefit of the doubt but I truly left in tears and frustration.”

“Lucy was phenomenal! She matched my nails exactly to the inspiration (first photo is the inspo, second two are my nails). My first time getting Gel-X and I am in love with them! Unfortunately, I am not a local— if I was, I would be back regularly!”

“Went here for the first time yesterday as it looked like a beautiful nail salon. Totally my taste when it comes to interior design. I was greeted right away but disappointed to see it was very full. I had called ahead of time to make an appointment but the person over the phone said to just walk in as it wasn’t busy…which was obviously not a good idea. Thankfully I only waited about 15-20 minutes to get seated. My manicure was rough. To the point where it wasn’t relaxing and some moments hurt - like when she pushed back my cuticles back and the massage was also very agressive. I like deep pressure not it was rough. She also painted my nails very sloppy. I had to ask her to come back to put on another coat because it was uneven and paint on my skin that she didn’t clean well…even after I asked. She was older so I felt bad asking her to fix things so I just decided to leave things be. She was very nice but I just didn’t love my manicure experience and the end results :( The pedicure was better. The guy I got did a good job but totally painted my nails a different color from my manicure :( Although I loved the ambiance and people were nice - didn’t love my end results. Very bummed as I really wanted to love this place since it’s close to where I live and loved the ambiance”

“Holly is amazing!! She has now done two sets for me and I’m impressed each time!! And she is so nice also! She did a red and pink checkered pattern nail for me and a gorgeous black French tip! Loved both and have gotten so many compliments from each set! Thank you Holly!! :)”
