“I’ve been going to CK Nails since moving to the Frederick area, and I seriously can’t recommend them enough! I always go to Joyce, and she is amazing - so friendly, thorough, and incredibly detail-oriented. She takes her time and my nails always look absolutely perfect when I leave. The salon itself is also extremely clean, and everyone there is always so friendly and welcoming. I have plenty of nail salons much closer to my house, but I will happily make the drive to CK Nails every time because they truly are the best. Highly recommend!”

“ZERO COMPASSION!!! TL;DR: I had an appointment, got run over by a truck, called to cancel on my way to the ER so they could open the spot for another client, was told by management I was still going to charged the cancelation fee anyways. They did not end up charging me, but only after I made this review. I was going to be a 1st time client tonight (30 January) & had an appointment booked this evening for a pedicure, but two hours before my appointment I was run over by a pickup truck. I tried to be a good client & cancel my appointment while I was on the way to Frederick Health so they could open their slot back up, and while the young lady who answered felt terrible, she checked with her manager to confirm I would still be charged the cancelation fee because, "you were informed at the time of booking your reservation that you would be charged the cancelation fee if you cancel your appointment in less than 24 hours". I wasn't planning on being run over this afternoon, so a little managerial discretion would have been nice. So the thumbs up picture is for the girl who answered the phone & felt awful, but huge thumbs down for management! Only after I made this review did CK reach out to say they wouldn't charge me. Damn, no apology for the callousness of your manager? Fine, I don't need one, but I'm going to leave you on 'Read'. The next day was when they were suddenly apologetic in an attempt to save face. CK nails does not care about people or building customer relationships. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!!”

“I went to Margaret the first time and she is a lovely person and did a wonderful job. I should have just stuck with her, but she wasn’t available on the day I needed an appointment so I went to Joyce (Who destroyed my long, natural, thick nails). She did not want to trim my cuticles at all, but when I asked her to cut them a few times, she kept doing them with a Dremel. So much so that my nails became paper thin. I went back to her a second time and asked her to not Dremel my nails because they became extremely thin and all broke off very deep. So instead, she started taking a nail file and just filing the hell out of every nail bed. She said she was having trouble getting their nail polish off, but I had been to them the last two times so it was whatever they use. In the meantime, I am very sad that my nails are destroyed and paper thin. I’m not even sure If my nails can recover from this. They also nickel and dime you to death. If you want cat eye polish, it’s an extra $20, if you want your cuticles trimmed it’s an extra $15, everything is extra and adds up very quickly. I have been to many places over the last 30 years and I’ve never seen this. As for the owner saying that they use a special base so that the gel polish comes off easily, this is not true. Or it does not work. That is why on both occasions, Joyce dremmeled and filed my nails to death attempting to get the gel polish off, making them very thin. They are the ones I went to for the previous gel manicures and they could not get their own polish off. I have now had to find another place and I’m spending hundreds over many months to get my nails, thick and healthy again.”

“Horrible place. Overcharged for a horrible job ($70). Every nail is crooked and not shaped well at all. She cut my finger 3 different times. I told her I want super square and she even asked me if I wanted sharp corners which was not done. They look like uneven coffin and she kept telling me they would get wider which spoiler they did not. My friend also got a pedicure and they told him to keep the supplies she used on him and keep it for next time he comes in??? Besides that Grace did a really really good job on the pedicure but Joyce was not good.”

“I had an amazing experience here at CK nails with Grace! Unlike ALL the other nail salons I have gone to, she actually didn't try to rip me off. I got a builder gel refill from her. The way she did it, it seemed to me like she did a builder gel full set, because she was so thorough. She took her time and her work was perfect. She was straightforward, did an amazing job and I will always return to her. Great experience!”
